The Historical Network Research (HNR) community is pleased to announce its 11th international conference, HNR2026. It will be held at the University of Turin, Italy, from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 July, 2026.
This conference, sponsored by the Historical Studies Department of the University of Turin and the ERC-funded projects REDMIX and DEMALPS, invites scholars to explore the 2026 theme: “Networks and their Sources.”
We encourage reflections on how diverse sources, from archival documents and archaeological remains to artworks and ideas, enable and shape historical network research. This focus addresses the core challenges and opportunities presented by often fragmented and complex historical evidence.
The HNR community applies formal network analysis to history, offering new perspectives on personal relationships, cultural dynamics, and economic systems. The conference fosters interdisciplinary dialogue and innovative methodologies for interpreting the past through networks.
