We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the Fourth REDMIX Project Webinar Series, entitled “The Red Sea Cities’ Urban Fabric.”
This online initiative offers an intellectual voyage into the rich and layered histories of Red Sea cities, exploring their human and social tapestries.
The series will delve into key themes such as the urban dynamics, strategic connectivity, and the geopolitical stakes that shape the region. It will also examine the political production of urban space and the role of diasporas in crafting the identity of these cities.
Our journey will take us from the shores of Djibouti to the neighborhoods of Suez and the ancient streets of Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, offering a panoramic perspective on the Red Sea’s urban fabrics.
The seminars will convene on 15 April at 17:00 CEST, 22 April at 17:00 CEST, and 28 April at 15:30 CEST.
This series is organized and moderated by Adnen el Ghali of the University of Turin and will be hosted online via the project’s WebEx platform at https://unito.webex.com/meet/redmix
We extend a cordial invitation to scholars, students, and enthusiasts to join us for this enlightening exploration of the Red Sea’s urban fabrics. Together, we will uncover the histories, narratives, and social intricacies that define this extraordinary region.
